Piping Nozzle 1m
A 1M piping tip is a very popular open star tip. It has six rounded points and is one of the most versatile nozzles in cake decorating. The patterns it makes depend on how you angle it and how much pressure you apply:
-
Classic Swirls: Perfect for cupcakes. If you pipe in a spiral starting from the outside and working inward and upward, you’ll get that tall bakery-style swirl.
-
Rosettes: Hold the tip straight down, start in the center, and pipe in a tight circle outward. This creates a rose-like flower.
-
Stars: Just press down firmly, stop, and pull up—this makes neat star shapes (great for borders).
-
Shells: Pipe with a little forward motion and release pressure as you pull away. This gives a pretty scalloped effect often used on cake edges.
-
Ruffles or Drop Flowers: If you pipe while twisting your wrist slightly, you can create ruffly flower-like shapes.
It’s a “workhorse” tip—good for beginners and pros alike—because with one nozzle you can pipe most classic cupcake and cake decorations.
